Getting to Wollongong from Sydney International Airport

The closest international airport to Wollongong is Sydney International Airport (SYD), 80km away.


Wollongong is 85 minutes by train from Sydney airport.

From the airport, take the train from the International or Domestic terminal to Wolli Creek and change to a Wollongong train bound for Port Kembla, Dapto or Bomaderry (South Coast line).

North Wollongong Station is the closest station to the university.

Normal taxis do not generally operate from Sydney airport to Wollongong, but several companies provide airport pick up services using small buses. The university currently uses Leisure Coast Limousines.

Getting to the University of Wollongong

The Wollongong campus of UOW is nestled beside the F6 freeway, allowing easy access for travel by car or motorcycle. All local bus operators also provide routes to and from it. The campus is just a 5 minute walk from the North Wollongong train station and a campus shuttle bus service connects regularly to it.

The main entrance is on Northfields Avenue, Gwynneville NSW.
